This process starts with what we call RC&A or Requirements Capture and Analysis.
This is a short, high level consultancy assignment designed to uncover the core
of the requirement and allow us to design a solution. This process is not just a
matter of assessing the technological requirements but also to take a wider perspective
covering 4 key areas: People, Process, Information and Technology. This enables
us to consider aspects such as usability and training, workflow, process improvement,
automation, Data migration (interaction with other systems) and finally enables
us to select an appropriate tool or set of tools for the Job, be it CRM, SharePoint
Once the RC&A is complete we formalise a prospective schedule of work and generally
undertake an agile project that is characterised by high levels of customer involvement,
frequent staged deliverables and heavy testing.
We have a commitment to code re-use and over the past few years we have developed
a number of tried and tested business components which cover common business requirements
such as managing security, moving data, event logging, timed actions, talking to
sage, CRM or SharePoint. We use these components as building blocks for many applications
and this increases both the speed and quality of delivery.
